Dr Yang, Founding Director appointed as an Independent Trustee of the Landscape Institute

Founder and Chairman of Wei Yang & Partners, Dr Wei Yang, has been appointed as an Independent Trustee of the Landscape Institute.

The Landscape Institute (LI) is the chartered body for the landscape profession. It is an educational charity that promotes the art and science of landscape practice.

Following the announcement Dr Yang commented:

“I am delighted to have been appointed as an Independent Trustee of the Landscape Institute. As a chartered town planner and an urban designer, my motivation for joining LI’s board lies in my ambition to make better connections between plan-making and place-making. I believe 21st Century planned communities should have highly inspirational landscape, as good as Capability Brown’s, for ordinary people to enjoy and play.

I am also keen to raise Landscape Institute’s international profile and promote knowledge transfer, especially to the fast-urbanised countries. It is particularly important to use green infrastructure as a positive force to mitigate advert climate change effects, and enhance bio-diversity & resilience, in both rural and urban areas.”
