The UK-China Eco-cities & Green Building Group was launched in March 2010 to provide a platform for UK-China co-operation in the development and delivery of world-class solutions for eco-cities and green building.
The Group members comprise leading UK research, professional and commercial organisations, with extensive support from the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and China-Britain Business Council (CBBC). In China, the Group is supported at national level by the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD), the China Green Building Council and the Chinese Society for Urban Studies. The Group is also supported in local cities across China by a wide range of development and delivery partners.
The Group is actively engaged in the delivery of sustainable urban development and projects to reduce energy and carbon commitments, in line with the Chinese Government’s 12th Five Year Plan (2011-2015), It also works to increase significantly bilateral trade by creating commercial opportunities in China, in the UK, and in third-party markets where the UK and China can work in partnership.
