Dr Wei Yang deliveres keynote speech at DAFNI annual conference

Today, Dr Wei Yang delivered a keynote speech at the 2023 DAFNI Annual Conference at Imperial College, London.
DAFNI (Data & Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure) is the National Platform to satisfy the computational needs in support of data analysis; infrastructure research; and strategic thinking for the UK’s long-term planning and investment needs.
The theme of the 2023 DAFNI annual conference is "Building a Secure and Resilient World." Joined by speakers from research institutions around the UK, as well as industry representatives and winners of the Centre of Excellence for Resilient Infrastructure Analysis grant programme, Dr Wei Yang's speech highlighted the urgency of interdisciplinary collaboration to address grand challenges.
Dr Yang said, “We could miss the opportunity to save ourselves because we lose the ability to plan for the FUTURE collaboratively”.
She also emphasised the necessity of a methodological change in spatial planning through its digitalisation and shared her method of a digitally enabled, place-based systems approach in her speech.
