Wei Yang and Partners have announced they will be sponsoring the high level parliamentary reception and working with the APPG for New Towns in 2018.
Sponsorship has been provided to the secretariat, the Town and Country Planning Association, to support the launch of the APPG in January which will be attended by Members of Parliament, members of the House of Lords and industry leaders. The Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP will be speaking at the event.
The APPG is made up of cross party MPs and Peers, and was initiated by Lucy Allen, MP for Telford, in August last year. The group aims to raise awareness of the issues facing existing New Towns and promote the successes for future developments such as the five new Garden Towns announced in the Autumn 2017 Budget.
Wei Yang and Partners are an industry leader in Town Planning and Urban Design specialising in the development of 21st Century Garden Cities and Towns.
Chairman Dr Wei Yang commented:
“I am very much looking forward to working with Lucy Allen MP, the Town and Country Planning Association and other members of the APPG.
“The UK led the way on New Town development and as we enter a new era of garden towns and villages it is vital we analyse the successes and challenges facing existing New Towns, as well their future potentials.
“I hope this group can play a role in delivering that, as well as demonstrating to Government the role new towns per se can play.”
